Summary:
As part of our team, the Medical Assistants work closely with our providers and patients.
More specifically, they interview patients, measure vital signs, document all information in patients charts and assist the Providers in exam rooms.
Additionally, they maintain logs, keep exam rooms stocked with adequate medical supplies and handle calls as appropriate.
This is a part time position, working approximately 20 hours a week.
Job Duties and
Responsibilities:
o Escort patients to exam rooms, interview patients, measure vital signs, including weight, blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and document all information in patients' chartso Assist providers in exam rooms; give instructions to patients as instructed by the providerso Perform certain procedures such as blood draw, EKG, etc.
o Keep exam rooms stocked with adequate medical supplies, maintain instruments, prepare sterilization as requiredo Provide feedback and answers to patient/provider/pharmacy callso Maintain all logs and required checks (i.
e.
refrigerator temperatures, emergency medications, expired medications, oxygen, etc.
)o All other duties as assigned by Office Manager or Practice AdministratorRequirementsRequired
Experience:
o High school diploma; some college preferredo Medical assistant certificationo Ability to maintain effective and organized systems to ensure timely patient flowo Ability to perform phlebotomy and administer injectionso Knowledge of medical terminologyo Exceptional customer service and phone etiquetteLicense/Certification:
